The battle for the Division 1 crown will need to wait. Just ten minutes into Saturday’s match against Old Blue at Randall’s Island, the ref called the game because of an unexpected snowfall.  Nearly three inches of snow had settled on the turf field, and the game was deemed unplayable. Most other matches in the division followed suit, whether before or after.

Monmouth has offered to host a makeup game versus Old Blue on the 12th of November, but nothing has been set or scheduled. Details will follow.

The women lost to the Portland women’s rugby team on Saturday afternoon. Portland went on to win Sunday and will represent the NRU in the national playoffs next Spring. Congrats to the women on a great season and thanks to Brett Colhoun for stepping in to coach and instruct.
